MC Transition Camp 2009 : 9-10 May 2009

MC Transition Camp 2009 is coming! It will be on 9th -10th May 2009.

This is the yearly transition process that will participate by all current and incoming MC. The main purposes of it definitely are TRANSITION + SHARING + BOND +  a lot of FUN STUFF.

Just receive an email for Jas that current team need start prepare the session proper. Suddenly, i just realise, time passing by so fast. It already nearly 1 year from the day i got a phone call from James. He told me that i need to pack and go office immediately for MCTC 2008. The phone call conversation vividly in my mind... That was a day before MCTC 2008.

It indeed a great experience to be part of Member Commitee 2008/2009. Too bad is i almost outstation all the time and not able to join the team frequently.

2 more months to go, we going to strive to UBS Excellence Award in IC 2009~!

Woooot.....

Cheers,

Siong

101.

101. That is the exact number of days I was part of the Member Committee of AIESEC Malaysia as their National Support Team.

101 days, and that is barely enough. Yet, I am lucky I even got to be a part of it.

My MC experience was intense. It was challenging. It was even awkward. Most of all, it was very rewarding. I learnt a lot about myself in this period of time, plus, I gained a lot of MC perks :D Haha! I'm actually saying that I got the chance to do things in the national level which were pretty exhilirating, like standing in front of the national plenery as an MC in MyLDS, or experience an MC meeting, or speak to Li Zhen when he was around, or sit on the VIP table in RACE. It was different.

To add onto the awesomeness, I had James, Jasmine, Emily, Daryl, Mei Shan, Elaine, Jai, Enki, Siong and Siew Wei as teammates! These were the people whom, as an EB, were my MCs. And I had the best time getting to know each and every one of them, they never made me feel like I was new and I had a good sense of belonging. I also got the wider perspective of things, the bigger picture of the organisation, and a higher level of understanding of things I could not comprehend on the local level.

Above all, my project made everything worth it. It may not have gone very smoothly, and I may have been held down by obstacles, but I have never felt happier working on it. I looked forward to every single session, and I found the joy in facilitating them. The concept of the project is amazing. And I had the chance of involving myself even more into the issue I found myself very passionate about. Two very memorable incidents were; one, when I wore a placecard which said "I am HIV positive, would you like to shake my hand?" at a World Vision event and saw the various reactions from our Malaysian society (a great shame) and two, when I got the chance to meet and speak to HIV positive people. It was pretty eye-opening.

My team of interns who worked with me throughout my 101 days; Jozefien, Eveline, Angela, Victor and Pitt, they were simply a joy, I'm so glad they took their time off to come for this project. I can't help but feel a tinge of regret, because their internship could have been so much more, but I hope they did enjoy their time here and are bringing back some great memories with them to their respective countries.

My term has ended, but I am still supporting strongly on the sidelines.

"Creating Possibilities, Driving Growth". I'm glad to have been a part of it :)

Thank you, dear MCs; for the opportunity to live those 101 days.

Signing off,
Julie

MC 09 10 Application's open

Its just been 4 months that i have been working as part of the MC , and now you suddenly you see that you will have
successor soon who is going to take over from you , with this it also brings a wave of shock that only 5 months are left
for your term to finish, and it also gives me immense motivation to push harder to reach closer to my goals

This being my third International experience,  but still wasn't easy in the beginning , It was very challenging , but enjoyed
the challenges and took them in a positive way and saw learning in every step, as far this has been one of the most
intense learning experience's i have had. working with such a large team from 3 different countries , managing the sales
of over 1,5 Million , dealing with the top CEO's of Malaysia , its been just so incredible .

MC Team Day & AI Director Visit

Hello there everyone,
Greetings from the MC office. Some updates from us in Petaling Jaya!

Recently, we had Team Day on 28th-29th Sept at MC office and the whole objective of Team Day is to do some bonding, some serious activities, as well as we had performance appraisal. This was the first time where the whole team was complete and together for 2 days in MC office, bonding, sharing, laughing, working.
We also celebrated Cafrey's birthday and ended with a happy Cafrey and an unhappy lamp pole

As you can see, Emily was not in the pictures, she suffered from fever on the 2nd day and the rest had fun without her :(

Jai from India and Elaine from China finally got meet the teammates from Northern and Southern region together.

2 days together, team visions and expectations were formed, stories shared, fever spread, and life-long bonds secured.

On the other hand, we had a week-long visit from Li Zhen, AI AP Director from China. He gave us many new insights and we realised that Malaysia can grow so much more! He was in Malaysia from 27th October-1st November. He was previously at Indonesia and will go to Australia next for the same purpose.

With the LCPs who came all the way to MC Office.
L-R (top): Li Zhen (AI Director), Alif (UM), Adelia (HELP), Brandon (UPM), Sook Theng (TUC)
L-R (bottom): Boey (UKM), Vincent (TUC LCP elect)

Oh, and he was amused to find wantan mee in dry style because he has only seen the soup version!

Creating Possibilities, Driving Growth

...is the motto of the Member Committee 2008/2009.

It was being discussed, discovered, and decided when the team finally came together, after a few months being separated geographically, having members in Mainland of China, India, and some in Brasil, there was rarely a time when all of us could spend time together, until MC Team Day Episode I over the weekend.

1. national focus areas and national vision
2. being creative and strategic as a culture without boundaries
3. wanting to grow, be Top 10 in the world
4. creating a much higher volume of AIESEC experiences as a priority

Those are the big pictures how we came up with the motto.

It is a statement so simple but it quickly takes us back to who we are, our role, and the impact we should be crafting.

Creating Possibilities:
The MC 2008/2009 believes that the greatest waste in the world is the difference between what we are and what we could become. We drive that culture within the team, spreading the energy to the whole national network, and not to mention globally.

Through this sentence, it reminds us at all times that AIESEC is the platform to impact as many people as possible. It is our role to make that possible with various strategies, and our commitment to make it happen.

Hence, creating possibilities.

Driving Growth:
We want AIESEC to be heard. We want AIESEC to be the most wanted organization to be acquainted with. We want AIESEC to reach out as far as we could. Growth is a simple word, but it is something so crucial for every person in the world. People want growth in knowledge, score well in exams, growing economy, and the list goes on.

It is clearly seen that AIESEC can and should contribute to those growth, and when it grows, it comes back to us, and we grow bigger. By creating various possibilities for all, we want AIESEC in Malaysia to grow in generating higher volume of AIESEC experiences for people across the globe.

Reinforcing ourselves in driving growth, within AIESEC and our community.
